CVS Online Photo May Have Been Breached

Posted by:

Today, CVS halted their online photo center after a security breach was discovered that may have allowed customer credit card data information to be stolen from a breach.

The CVS Photo stated that their customers who shop at CVS.com and in their stores are not affected.

CVS became aware that customer credit card information that is collected by the independent vendor who hosts the CVSPhoto.com may have been compromised, the company stated.  CVS’s online photo processing and CVSPhoto.com are completely separate from CVS.com and their  pharmacies.

PNI Digital Media, is the vendor who manages CVSPhoto.com and also runs the photo center website for Walmart Canada, which had its own security breach last week.

Walmart Photo Center in Canada has been disabled, and like CVS, Walmart stores in Canada and the USA are not effected. PNI Digital Media operates at over 19,000 retail locations as well as 8,000 in-store kiosks.
